Located in the original James B. Brainerd Post 111 GAR Building (1886,) there are two floors of artifacts, theme based exhibits, an annual Kid's Discovery Camp, monthly speaker presentations and more!

With over 5000 artifacts in our collection we are the premier museum in Michigan for experiencing the legacy created by the Grand Army.
Not only a museum, but a resource for tracing your ancestors, the impact of the Grand Army in your community, state and sources for information relating to the Civil War, the GAR and it's Allied Orders. We can also provide research assistance within certain limitations.
